Two teams find themselves on top of the leader board after opening rounds of 62 at the 24th SCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball being contested at Florence Country Club in Florence, SC.
Travis Cashion (Columbia) and partner Chandler Vilcheck (Bluffton) along with Jon Weiss (Florence) and partner John Schaffer (Sumter) will be paired together in tomorrow's final group. Cashion and Vilcheck made seven birdies and an eagle with their only bogey coming on the par three seventh. Weiss and Schaffer carded 9 birdies and a bogey en route to their round of 62.
Three teams finished the day one shot back of the leaders. The teams of Matthew Hopper/Danny Brock, Kevin Driggers/Blake Williamson and Eddie Hargett/John Obrien all shot rounds of seven under par 63. Brian Lewis/Jared Decamps and Chad Siefert/Yancey Johnson sit two shots back after rounds of 64.
The final round will begin at 7:30 AM Sunday morning with the leaders teeing off at 1:30 PM.
The 2018 SCGA Mid-Amateur Four Ball Championship is being played at the par 70 – 6,413 yard Florence Country Club. The field consisted of 74 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty six holes. The Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship is in its 24th year of existence.
