SCGA Partners Championship Champions - Walt Todd Jr. & Kyle Bearden

Bearden & Todd Jr. Capture Victory at SCGA Partners Championship

 

Columbia, S.C.  -  Kyle Bearden  (Barnwell) and  Walt Todd Jr.  (Greenville) have claimed the victory at the SCGA’s 31 st  Annual Partners Championship after firing a final round of 61 and a tournament score of 20 under par 124. Coming into 18,  Bearden and Todd Jr.  were tied with the team of  Chris Eassy  &  Yancey Johnson  (Simpsonville).  After a three hole playoff,  Bearden and Todd Jr.  found themselves victorious.

 

In the First Flight of the Championship Division, there was a two-way tie between the team of  Garland Ferrell  (Greenville) &  Michael Sims  (Lexington) and the team of  Thomas and Brewer Bradshaw  (Johns Island/ Seneca) after both teams finished with tournament totals of 17 under par 127.  Nathan Price  (Lexington)  Ethan Bean  (Columbia)  won the Second Flight of the Championship Division with a 12 under par two-day total of 132. 

 

In the Tournament Division,  Matthew and Josh Frye  (Hartsville) captured the overall victory by two shots after a two-day total of 16 under par 128. The First Flight of the Tournament Division went to the team of  Gettys Glaze  (Charleston) and  Brian Lawler  (Prosperity) after a total round of 131. The Second Flight of the Tournament Division was won by  Chris Chamberlin  (Rock Hill) &  Wade Ramsey  (York) after a tournament score of ten under par 134. 

The 2024 SCGA Partners Championship was played at both Spring Valley Country Club and WildeWood Country Club. The field consisted of 98 two-man teams playing Captains Choice in the first round and a Modified Texas Scramble in the final round. The Championship Division competed at WildeWood Country Club on day one and Spring Valley Country Club on day two, vice versa for the Tournament Division. The Partners Championship is in its 31 st  year of existence and is a fund raiser for the South Carolina Junior Golf Association.
