Bouknight Victorious at Florence Forty Plus
Kip Bouknight of Lexington was able to claim top honors at the rescheduled Forty Plus Series Event that was contested at Florence Country Club, after a round of one under par 70. John Obrien (Columbia) also shot an impressive round of 70 but was unable to compete in the playoff leading him to a second place finish. Yancey Johnson (Simpsonville) and Bo McCullough (Aiken) finished in a tie for third after rounds of even par 71.
In the Tournament Net Division, Page Kalish (Columbia) was victorious after a net score of two under par 69. Chris Christiansen (Chapin) finished in second place after a net score of 70.
In the Senior Gross Division, Duff Wagner (Taylors) captured the victory after a four over par round of 75. Ron Clontz (Greer) finished alone in second place with a gross score of 76 followed by John Miller (Charleston) with a score of 78.
In the Senior Net Division, Rick Oyervides (Greer) finished atop the leaderboard after a net score 70. Bruce Bourdon (Simpsonville) finished just one shot behind Oyervides after a net round of 71.
Bob Edens (Columbia) took top gross honors in the Super Senior Gross Division after a three under par round of 68. Robin Alley (Columbia) finished in second place after a round of 72. In the Super Senior Net Division, Thomas Eberhard (Johns Island) claimed the top spot after a net round of one over par 72.
The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 61 players playing Florence Country Club in Florence, SC. This was a rescheduled event from the original February date that was postponed due to weather. The next 40 Plus event will be held on September 20th at the Wachesaw Plantation Club in Murrells Inlet, SC.
