Awards

The South Carolina Golf Association presents five awards to honor the considerable efforts of those who have invested time and energy to give back to the game, leaving a lasting impact on our associations, the community, the state of South Carolina and the game of golf as a whole. 

SCGA Club of the year

The SCGA Club of the Year award recognizes a SCGA member club that goes over and beyond to give back to Amateur golf in South Carolina. The award was first presented in 2004.

Charles Drawdy Distinguished Service Award

Named in honor of long time South Carolina Golf Association supporter, South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Board member and past SCGA President Charles Drawdy. The Charles Drawdy Distinguished Service Award recognizes the special efforts of an SCGA member who has gone over and beyond to help grow the mission of the South Carolina Golf Association and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. The award was first presented in 1997.

Tom Fazio Service to Golf Award

Named in honor of famous golf architect, Tom Fazio, for all of his services given to the golf industry in South Carolina. The Tom Fazio Service to Golf Award recognizes the efforts of an individual that especially helps enhance and promote the game of golf with an emphasis on the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and our programs. The award was first presented in 2002.

Rick Miller Volunteer of the Year

Named in honor of longtime supporter, Rules Official, South Carolina Golf Association and South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Board member, Rick Miller. The Rick Miller Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes volunteers that have made extraordinary contributions to the South Carolina Golf Association and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association that help enhance and promote the game of golf in South Carolina. The award was first presented in 2021.

Ambassador to Golf

The South Carolina Golf Association’s Golf Ambassador award recognizes and honors an individual or group that sets a standard of enthusiasm and passion for our golf programs and events in our State. The Ambassador to Golf award is presented to individuals as a sign of appreciation for their significant contributions to golf in the state of South Carolina.
