Three Tied Atop Leaderboard at Opening Round of SCGA Senior Championship
After the first round of the 2021 SCGA Senior Championship, three statewide notables are tied atop the leaderboard after each player provided stellar rounds of four under par 68. Reigning Champion Steve Liebler (Irmo), 2018 SCGA Senior Champion Rich Weston (Pawleys Island), and Spartanburg’s Stan Sill lead the pack heading into the second round after battling shifty winds throughout the pine tree lined Country Club of Lexington layout.
Two shots behind the leaders in solo fourth place is the 2017 SCGA Senior Champion, Geno Berchiatti (Greenville), who fired his own impressive round of two under par 70. Heading into the second round, there is a three-way tie for fifth between Bob Edens (Columbia), Walter Todd (Laurens), and Kyle Turner (Greenville) after each player shot one under par round of 71.
Round Two of the SCGA Senior Championship will begin at 8:00 am off of #1 tee at the Country Club of Lexington.
