Bell and Lutomski Take First Round Lead at Players Four-Ball

Despite an ugly forecast, a beautiful overcast day greeted players at the opening round of the 37th Annual SCGA Players Four-Ball Championship held at Columbia Country Club. Weston Bell (Piedmont) and Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville) opened the tournament with an eight under par round of 64 to take a one-shot lead over the teams of Blake Williamson (Anderson) and Josh Branyon (Honea Path) along with the duo of Levi Joiner (Prosperity) and John Meetze (Chapin). With a first round score of 66, the teams of Jordan Sease (Lexington) and Cole Thornton (West Columbia) along with the 2019 Mid-Am Four-Ball Co-Champion team of Kevin King (Bluffton) and Todd White (Roebuck) will look to make a push for a comeback victory. Bell and Lutomski combined for 8 birdies, ten pars, and had a bogey free round throughout their opening 18 holes and will look to continue their steady play for the final round.

The field will be split into four flights for Sunday’s final round based on first round scores. The Final round will begin on Sunday as a first tee start beginning at 8:00 AM.
