NEW DATE & HOST: 2020 SCGA FATHER-SON CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2020 SCGA Dudley-Sullivan Father-Son Championship that originally was scheduled for June 18th at Greenville Country Club has been moved to The Woodcreek Club in Elgin, SC on June 25th. Please read more below....
As this event is in its 51st year of existence, it holds a special place in the tradition of the South Carolina Golf Association and we hope that every Father-Son duo that plays in this event has memories to share for a lifetime.
As the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to make an impact on our state and the golf industry as a whole, we want to update everyone on the status of this year’s event. After much discussion between the SCGA and our tournament host, Greenville Country Club, this year’s event will have to be moved to another SCGA member course along with being pushed back a week until Thursday, June 25th. Since 2012, Greenville Country Club has been a gracious host of the SCGA Father-Son Championship and will continue to carry on the tradition again in 2021. Unfortunately, at this time, Greenville Country Club will not be able to host this championship in 2020 as they need to focus on club priorities at this time. The Woodcreek Club (Elgin, SC), thanks to its members, staff, and ownership, has accepted the opportunity to host this year’s championship on June 25th.
With that being said, we want to apologize for having to move this event location and date, but as we all know, times have changed drastically as COVID-19 continues to dwell throughout the world. As this event lies deep in SCGA tradition, we still feel that this event should still be played through the right precautions.
**REGISTERED TEAMS - Should a currently registered team not be able to make the June 25th reschedule date, please let the SCGA know by Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 by 5:00 PM. Credit cards have not be charged as everyone has been placed on a pending list at this time. Any team that does not contact us by May 26th will be considered playing on the June 25th reschedule date. Teams will also be limited for this event so please let us know if you are not planning to play as soon as possible!**
