All events previously scheduled to take place between now and May 28, have been suspended. This includes all SCGA, SCJGA, and SCJGF events, championships and qualifiers, Forty Plus Series Events, One Day Series Events, and USGA qualifiers held in South Carolina.
Will my event be rescheduled?
Events will be rescheduled on a case-by-case basis. We are actively working with all our host clubs in the hope that the majority of suspended events are able to be rescheduled.
Will I receive a refund?
All players who are currently in fields for events with start dates from today through May 28 will be contacted directly about refunds and any other available options.
What about events that occur after May 28?
Many of our event registrations will be put into a "Pending List" - player status for entry will still be based on the application information provided on each tournament web page. For any players who have already registered and paid for a tournament that occurs after May 28, we are temporarily adjusting our withdrawal policy. Those players can withdraw at any time prior to the event and will receive for a full refund with no admin fees. You can withdraw here.
What events are open for registration?
Registration will remain open for events that take place on or after May 28. The SCGA will place all tournament entries on a “Pending List” in the order they are received. Player registered status for entry will still be based on the application information provided on each tournament web page.
Do the Rules of Golf and Handicapping change during the COVID-19 outbreak?
The 2019 Rules of Golf were drafted to offer each Committee the flexibility to make decisions as to how golf is played at their course or in competition and the Committee Procedures section of the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf offers a significant amount of guidance and recommendations on how to address circumstances unique to each course or competition. From the perspective of the Rules of Handicapping, the most frequent questions received are primarily related to the acceptability of scores for posting to a player’s scoring record. In particular, relating to modifying the hole and not requiring the player to “hole out” as required under the Rules of Golf. To see more information - COVID-19 USGA Rules and Handicapping FAQ
