Bell and Lutomski Capture Second Partners Championship Title
A picture perfect day for the final round of the 27th Annual SCGA Partners Championship welcomed players to Spring Valley Country Club and The Club at Woodcreek. With the sun beaming down on competitors, the team of Weston Bell (Greenville) and Robert Lutomski (Simpsonville) would turn up the heat as they made their way to the winner's circle.
Second time winners of this event now, Bell and Lutomski would match their opening round with another 11 under par, 61 to skirt past Josh Branyon (Honea Path) and Kevin Roberts (Chesnee) by one shot. Calling it a Sunday shootout, the teams would battle all day, but Bell and Lutomski jumped out early on the front nine, carding a five under 31 to take a lead into the back nine.
Finishing in third place for the championship and rounding out the top five with a tournament total of 126, the family duo of brothers Brent (Columbia) and Barry (Myrtle Beach) Roof, Josh McMillan (Boiling Springs) and Stan Sill (Spartanburg) and Caulder Moore (Mt. Pleasant) and Sam Moore (Blythewood).
Moving to the Tournament Division, Jeff Burgess (Leesville) and Ian Gohean (Greenville) would fire a final round eight under par 64, jumping to the top of the leaderboard and capturing the Division title by two shots. First round leaders Landis Lane and Quentin Yarborough of Florence took solo second place carding a two under par 70 in the final round.
