SCGA One Day Series – New Updates for 2020
NEW CHANGES FOR 2020
After much thorough discussion between players, tournament directors, head professionals and SCGA staff, the SCGA will implement a new One Day Series design for 2020. Instead of conducting two versions of One Days (Regular & Senior) the new SCGA One Day Series design will conduct approximately 45 events. The new One Day Series Events will incorporate all age and skill levels playing in divisions based on age and gender. Gross and Net Awards (Overall and within Divisions) will still be awarded at all SCGA One Day Events!

Key Features:
Registration – Registration for all One Day events will now be done through USGA Tournament Management powered by Golf Genius. Before registering for an event, a SCGA TM Profile must be created for any individual wanting to participate in the One Day Event. Profiles can be created now in preparation for registering for the first One Day Event - A step by step video will be released in early January on how to register for One Day Events!
Application Openings and Deadlines – In the previous One Day Series design, players called the host club 10 days prior to the event to reserve a tee time for the event. In 2020, applications will be available online through Golf Genius TM by having opening dates and deadlines to register. A refund policy will be established for any withdrawals prior to each One Day Series Event.
Tee Time Selection – When a player registers for a One Day Series Event, the player will have the option to choose an approximate tee time for the event. Additional players can be added to that respective tee time as long as each individual has a SCGA TM Profile. Tee times may not be exact as what is chosen as participant numbers may vary and need to be adjusted to minimize unnecessary tee time gaps. Official Pairings will be posted online by the SCGA prior to each One Day Series Event.
Cost – The cost of each SCGA One Day Series Event will be $45. This includes cart/green fees, gift certificate purse, tournament registration fees and entry, and tournament expenses.
Tournament Results – Beyond registering through Golf Genius TM, the 2020 One Day Series Events will showcase live/hole by hole scoring along with Golf Genius TM’s ability to provide faster final score posting. Using this technology for One Day Events will help streamline not only the registration process, but SCGA One Day Directors will now have the ability to award gift amounts instantaneously once the last score has been posted for the event. NO MORE WAITING TO SEE RESULTS!!!!
