Eassy & Friday Lead After Opening Round at Forty Plus Finale
Teams across the state have gathered for the SCGA’s Forty Plus Finale at one of the lowcountry’s finest courses, The Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. Even with a chill in the air, a light mist and constant winds, all 50 teams were ready to battle the elements for the opening round.
Chris Eassy (Greer) & Scott Friday (Greenville) currently lead the gross portion of the Tournament Division after the duo fired a seven under par round of 63. Two shots back of the leaders are the teams of John Asay (Blythewood) & Eddie Hargett (Columbia) along with Matt Davis (Honea Path) & Jeff McCutcheon (Greenwood).
In the Tournament Net Division, Marty Bunch (Summerville) & Andy Balao (Summerville) are atop the leaderboard with a net total of eight under par 62.
In the Senior Gross Division, Duff Wagner (Taylors) and Terry Willis (Greenville) lead after an opening round score of six under par 64. Joe Horne (Columbia) & Rich Houghton (Elgin) currently lead the Senior Net Division with a nine under par 61.
Warren Peper (Charleston) and Oren Wood (Landrum) lead the Super Senior Gross Division after an opening round of two under par 68. In the Super Senior Net Division, Jim Childers (Hopkins) and Lee Trawick (Blythewood) lead with an eight under 62.
The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The Forty Plus Finale is a two-day event being conducted on Sunday and Monday at The Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, SC. The Final Round will begin with a 9:30 Shotgun on Monday morning. This event is the final 40 Plus event the SCGA will conduct in 2019.
