Breezy Conditions Challenge Players at Musgrove Mill

After the first round of the SCGA Four Ball Championship, the Musgrove Mill duo of Jack Brown and Jonathan Coleman find themselves atop the leader board after firing the low round of the day at six under par 66.

Overcast skies and breezy conditions made the challenging Musgrove Mill layout that much harder during the 56^th edition of the annual team competition. Brown and Coleman carded four front nine birdies with their lone bogey of the day coming at the par four fifth hole. They matched their front nine 33 with a bogey free 33 on the back nine en route to their 66.

Five teams are tied for second place after opening rounds of five under par 67. The sides of Mike Hartin and Randy Cisson, Cooper Tinsley and Thomas Todd, Connor Fahey and Benjamin Loudermilk, Zach Herold and Hunter Parks along with the side of Jonathan Maull and Evan Rodwell will hope to track down the first-round leaders to claim medalist honors. Three teams sit well within striking distance two shots behind after rounds of two under par 68.

Fifty-two teams are vying for the 31 spots that qualify for the Match Play portion of the event that begins on Friday. Defending Champions Walt Todd Jr. and Brandon Truesdale have secured the top seed in Match Play by virtue of their victory last year.

The Second Round of Stroke Play Qualifying will begin Thursday morning at 8:00 AM off of holes #1 and #10.
