Hargett and Rebholz Tied Atop the Leaderboard After Round One of SCGA Senior Championship

Playing on a pristine Callawassie Island Club golf course, Eddie Hargett (Blythewood) and Rich Rebholz (Rock Hill) are tied atop the leaderboard with each player carding opening round scores of one under par 71. Both players began their day on the Dogwood Course, carding three birdies a piece to begin their rounds. Hargett and Rebholz found out, just as the rest of the field did, the Magnolia Course would provide a tougher back nine test as Hargett finished with a back nine total of 37 while Rebholz would finish his back nine with a score of 38.

One shot behind the leaders with opening rounds of even par 72 are local favorites Kevin King (Bluffton) and Duke Delcher (Bluffton) along with upstate powerhouse Duff Wagner (Taylors) and the 2017 SCGA Senior Champion, Geno Berchiatti of Greenville. The 2018 SCGA Senior Champion, Rich Weston (Pawleys Island), is just two shots off of the lead heading into the second round after finishing with a first round score of 73.

Round Two of the SCGA Senior Championship will begin at 8:00 am off of #1 & #10 tees.

The 2019 SCGA Senior Championship is being played on the 6,455 yard Callawassie Island Club (Dogwood/Magnolia) in Callawassie Island, SC. The starting field consists of 108 players over the age of 55 and will be cut to the low 60 and ties after the first two days of play.
