Battling frigid weather and constant wind, Kevin Roberts of Chesnee was able to claim top honors at the SCGA 40+ Series event contested at the Country Club of Spartanburg, after a round of three under par 69. Blythewood’s Eric Nord finished alone in second place after a round of 74 followed by Blake Williamson of Anderson finishing in third place with a total of 75.

In the Tournament Net Division, Mike Sherr (Williamston) took the title with a net total of 72. Tied for second place was Matt Wilson (Spartanburg) and Chris Chamberlin (Rock Hill), each finishing one shot behind the lead with net totals of 75.

In the Senior Gross Division, Jack Brown (Greer) won the playoff over Stan Sill (Spartanburg) for first place after both participants finished with rounds of even par 72. Finishing in solo third place was Jamie Hodge (Spartanburg) with a total of 77.

In the Senior Net Division, Greg Hooks (Spartanburg) took low honors after a net scores of 72. Stephen Boucher (Woodruff) finished  two shots back with a net score of 74 for solo second place. 

In the Super Senior Gross Division, Doug Tooke (Greenville) won the playoff over Tim Pope (Spartanburg) for first place after both participants finished with rounds of 74. In the Super Senior Net Division, Chris Bigalke (Simpsonville) grabbed first place with a net score of 73.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 81 players playing the Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC. This event was the sixth of seven 40 Plus events the SCGA will conduct in 2018. The next 40 Plus event will be held on December 8^th – 9^th  at TPC Myrtle Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC.
