Eric Nord of Blythewood was able to claim top honors at the SCGA 40+ Series event contested at Camden Country Club, after a round of four under par 66. Anderson’s Blake Williamson finished alone in second place after a round of 69. Greenville native Dean Nance finished third with a round of 73.
In the Tournament Net Division, Dan Gaither (Greer) took the title by 3 shots after a round of net 62. Camden CC member Jeff Tindall finished alone in second place after a net 69 and Johns Island native Justin Winslow finished third after a round of net 71.
In the Senior Gross Division, two players found themselves tied at the top after play was complete. Greer’s Mike Caprio took top honors after chipping in on the first shot of a sudden death chip-off. Caprio along with Chesterfield’s Joe Hendrick fired rounds of one over par 71. Marty Henson (Piedmont) finished alone in third place after a round of 76.
In the Senior Net Division, Eddie Smith (Myrtle Beach) and Steele Pendleton (Blythewood) tied for low honors after net scores of 69. Luke Lucas (Florence) and Andy Carter (Simpsonville) finished tied for second place after rounds of net 71.
Phil Farley (Hanahan) took top gross honors in the Super Senior Gross Division after a round of 4 over par 74.Columbia’s Mike Miller finished alone in second place firing a round of 77. In the Super Senior Net Division, Jim Ramsey (Lake City) and Tony Koechli (Lyman) finished tied for top honors after carding rounds of net 67.
The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 65 players playing Camden Country Club in Camden, SC. This event was the fourth of seven 40 Plus events the SCGA will conduct in 2018. The next 40 Plus event will be held on October 22nd at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, SC.
