Daniels & Fisk Take One Shot Lead

Michael Daniels and Bob Fisk hold a one shot lead after an opening round 62 in the SCGA’s Fourth Annual Super Senior Four-Ball Championship being held at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood, SC.

Daniels (Johns Island) & Fisk (Murrells Inlet) combined for six birdies, eleven pars, and a double eagle on the par 5 - eighteenth hole to take control of the lead by one shot over Charlie Moore (N. Myrtle Beach) & Bob Buie (Columbia), who opened with a 8 under par round of 63. Three-time defending champions, George Ackerman & Mike Weiner, find themselves two shots back of the leaders heading into the final round but will continue to search for the elusive fourth title.  

In the Legends Division, Bill McDougall (Columbia) and Carey Hite (Columbia) are atop the leaderboard after an opening round of five under par 66. One shot behind is Lynn Martin (Boiling Springs) and longtime SCGA One Day Director Paul Manikowski (Travelers Rest) after the duo carded a 4 under par 67.

The Final round will begin on Thursday with a 9.00 a.m. shotgun.

The 2018 SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship is being played at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club on the Garnet and Black nines.  The starting field consisted of 42 teams split into two divisions. The Championship Division was flighted based on Round One scores. The Championship Division consisting of players ages of 65-69, is playing to a yardage of 5,633 yards while the Legends Division consisting of players ages 70 and over, is playing to a yardage of 5,466 yards. The format for the two days of competition is Four-Ball Stroke Play.
