Matt Nesmith (Columbia, SC), Keller Harper (Atlanta, GA), Emmanuel Kountakis (Augusta, GA), Brad Thorne (Moore, SC), and Andrew Spiegler (Abingdon, VA) have all qualified at Columbia Country Club (7,118 yards, Par 71) in Blythewood, SC to advance to Sectional Qualifying for the 118th US Open Championship. Harper and Nesmith (pictured) tied for medalist honors with rounds of 66.
After a four hole playoff Scott Parel (Augusta, GA) is the first alternate and Scott Stevens (Chattanooga, TN) is the second alternate.
78 players started the event playing for five spots and two alternates to qualify for a sectional qualifier in order to participate in the 2018 United States Open Championship that will be conducted at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. on June 11 – 17, 2018.
