Ackerman and Weiner Make it Three in a Row
George Ackerman & Mike Weiner continued their solid play to win their third straight title in the SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball held at Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood, SC with a final round of 66 and a two-day total of eleven under par 131.
Ackerman (Charleston) & Weiner (Kiawah Island) completed the final round carding two bogeys matched with seven birdies to finish one shot ahead of first round co-leaders John Laehn (Aiken) and Patrick Luskey (Aiken). The teams of Jim Burgess & Bob Hammersla and Jimmy Hawkins & Jimmy Martin finished in a tie for third with a two-day total of 133.
The Championship Division Second Flight ended in a tie for first place. The team of Bob Bacon & Barnaby Henderson finished tied with fellow competitors Tom Gaines & Johnny McBee with a two-day total of 140.
In the Legends Division, Steve Pachol & Greg Schachner won their second straight Legends Division title after a blistering second round 61. First round leaders Vic Hannon and Bob Stringer finished alone in second after a closing round of 73.

The 2017 SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship is being played at Cobblestone Park Golf Club on the Garnet and Black nines. The starting field consisted of 35 teams split into two divisions. The Championship Division was flighted based on Round One scores. The Championship Division consisting of players ages of 65-69, is playing to a yardage of 5,633 yards while the Legends Division consisting of players ages 70 and over, is playing to a yardage of 5,466 yards. The format for the two days of competition is Four-Ball Stroke Play.
