On a day where players faced swirling winds, Mike Hartin of Slater shot a 2 under par 70 to claim Low Gross at the SCGA 40 Plus Series event held at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. Jeff Day of Columbia and Simpsonville’s Yancey Johnson tied for second at even par.

In the Tournament Net Division, Danny Land and Mark Torres tied for low honors with net scores of 69. Clay Rykard, Dale King, Mike Rutland, and Scott Boggs all finished in a tie for third with net scores of 70.

In the Senior Gross Division, Gary Odom of Greenwood captured the title with a one under par round of 71. Steve Poole of Spartanburg and Todd Webber of Moore tied for second with rounds of 74.

In the Senior Net Division, Darryl Kuenzer and Jerry Sprouse finished tied atop the leaderboard with net scores of 68. Barry Brown, Chip Owens, and Dennis Guerriero finished tied for third with net scores of 69.
And in the Super-Senior Division, Doug Tooke finished in first place with a round of 75 while Danny Epting took home the Net title with a score of 64.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 80 players playing The Reserve at Lake Keowee. This event was the third of seven 40 Plus events the SCGA will conduct in 2017. The next 40 Plus event will be held September 18 at Orangeburg Country Club.
