Ackerman & Weiner Repeat as Champions
George Ackerman & Mike Weiner found their groove to win back to back titles at the 2nd Annual SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship at The Plantation Course at Edisto with a final round score of 62 for a tournament total of 12 under par 128.
Ackerman (Charleston) & Weiner (Kiawah Island) completed the final round bogey free, accumulating four birdies in their first nine holes along with compiling four more birdies on their last nine in order to win the championship by four strokes over Bob Albus & John Ward. First round leaders Lanny Correll & Jamie Frazier slipped into a third place finish after a final round of 71.
Winning the Championship Division Second Flight were Michael Dingus & Jeff Grime with a score of 137.
In the Legends Division, Steve Pachol & Greg Schachner won the title after making birdie on the first playoff hole against Gary Shimmin & Jonathan Verity. Both teams finished with a two day total of 132.

The 2016 SCGA Super Senior Four-Ball Championship was played on the 5,741 (Championship Division) & 5,283 (Legends Division) yard, Tom Jackson designed Plantation Course at Edisto layout in Edisto, SC. The field consisted of 37 teams over the age of 65.

The SCGA, founded in 1929, is the governing body for amateur golf in South Carolina. As a non-profit organization, the SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. Made up of more than 270 member clubs and more than 50,000 individual members, the SCGA annually conducts 21 SCGA statewide championships, 71 one-day contests, ten USGA qualifiers, seven 40-plus tournaments and six special events. Other Member services offered include GHIN – the USGA Handicap Computation System, a Tournament Software System and support, Rules of Golf and Handicap education, USGA Course/Slope Ratings and Course measuring, Amateur Status information, the Palmetto Golfer Magazine and the SC Golf Hall of Fame. The SCGA also houses the offices of the SC Junior Golf Foundation and SC Junior Golf Association in a combined effort to support junior golf and grow the game’s initiatives.
