Todd Hendley of Greer shot a 3 under par 68 to claim Low Gross at the SCGA 40 Plus Series event held at the Thornblade Club. Hendley, Thornblade Club Member and reigning SCGA Mid-Amateur and Senior Champion, recorded seven birdies in his round along with two bogies and a lone double bogey on the 18^th hole to capture the title by two strokes. Ken Kirkland of Simpsonville, Doug Ramey of Greer, and Blake Williamson of Anderson finished in a three way tie for second place with respective rounds of 70.

In the Tournament Net Division, Bill Hathaway of Taylors took low honors with a net score of 67. Gary Nelson of Greenwood and Stephen Tompkins of Clemson finished tied for second with net scores of 68.

In the Senior Gross Division, Eddie Hargett of Blythewood captured the victory with a two under par round of 69. Thornblade Club Member, Duff Wagner of Taylors, finished in second with a 72.

In the Senior Net Division, Vince Williams of Columbia finished atop the leaderboard with a net score of 65. There was a two way tie for second between Charles Gibson of North Augusta and Mike Robinson of Greenville each finishing with a net score of 68.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for the golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 112 players playing the Thornblade Club. This event was the second of seven 40 Plus events the SCGA will conduct in 2016. The next 40 Plus event will be played on May 16th at Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC.
