Josh McMillan Snares First Forty Plus Victory
It took four weeks longer than originally planned, but Josh McMillan birdied his way to victory in the rescheduled Forty Plus event at the Country Club of Spartanburg after shooting a low round of four under par 68.  McMillan (Spartanburg) made a total of six birdies and only two bogies to finish two shots ahead of his nearest competitor, Brian Kennedy (Woodruff).  Finishing alone in third position was Doug Ramey (Greer) with a score of one under par 71.  Richard Patterson (Moore) took Low Net honors in the Tournament Division with a score of 68.

In the Senior Division, Doug Tooke (Greenville) finished with a two over par 74 to win by two shots over Rich Houghton (Columbia).  Vince Williams (Columbia) took top honors in the Net category with a final score of two under par 70.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for the golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field is divided into a Tournament and a Senior Division for individuals over the age of 55.  The tournament at the Country Club of Spartanburg was originally scheduled for October 6, but had to be rescheduled due to the extreme flooding in the State that day.  The rescheduled date consisted of a total of 90 players competing against each other over the par 72 golf course.  Due to record rainfall and course conditions, the RiverTowne 40+ event scheduled for November 9 has been canceled.  The next 40 Plus event will be the two man season finale to be played December 6-7 at Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, SC.
