O’Brien Captures Victory at Forty Plus
John O’Brien of Columbia was the only player to shoot even par on Monday at Camden Country Club to capture the first SCGA 40 Plus Series event of 2015. O’Brien compiled four birdies on his way to a steady round of 70. Dean Nance of Greenville respectively finished with a 1-Over round of 71 to claim second place in the Tournament Gross Division.

In the Tournament Net Division, Colin Weaver of Bamberg took low honors with a net score of 69. Bill Hathaway of Taylors finished in second with a net score of 70.

In the Senior Gross Division, Andy Congdon of Garden City shot a 1-Over par 71 to claim his spot on top of the leaderboard. Bob Edens of Columbia finished alone in second with a 74.

In the Senior Net Division, there was a three way tie for first with net scores of 71 between Lee Sheorn (Camden), Mac Asay (Camden), and Phil Farley (Hanahan).

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for the golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 92 players playing Camden Country Club. This event was the first of seven 40 Plus events the SCGA will conduct in 2015. The next 40 Plus event will be played on April 20th at The Reserve at Woodside in Aiken, SC.
