Biershenk and Ezelle Capture Victory at Forty Plus Four-Ball Event

A beautiful golf course and blue skies greeted players at the fifth Forty Plus Series event of 2022 at Rock Hill Country Club on Monday. In the Tournament Division, Robbie Biershenk (Boiling Springs) & Daniel Ezelle (Taylors) claimed top honors with a gross better ball score of five under par 67. There was a two-way tie for second between the team of Chris Eassy (Simpsonville) and Yancey Johnson (Simpsonville) and the team of Kevin Tindal (Rock Hill) and Bill Warren (Rock Hill) after both finished with a gross score of 69.

In the Tournament Net Division, there was a two-way tie between the team of  Rob Hrubula (Spartanburg) and Mike Hrubula (Spartanburg) and the team of Bryan Tune (Columbia) and Henry Lancaster (Wagener) as both teams finished atop the leaderboard with a net total of five under par 67.

In the Senior Gross Division, Brian Kennedy (Woodruff) and Scott Smith (Spartanburg) were victorious after a seven under par gross round of 65. Finishing in second place was the team of Todd Hendley (Columbus, NC) and Duff Wagner (Taylors) with a gross score of six under par 66.

In the Senior Net Division, Bill White (Piedmont) and Aaron Harrison (Spartanburg) finished atop the leaderboard with a net total of 63.  

Robin Alley (Columbia) and Gus Sylvan (Columbia) took top gross honors in the Super Senior Gross Division after a round of five under par 67.  In the Super Senior Net Division, Greg Schachner (Elgin) and Daniel Youngblood (Lexington) finished in first after a net round of 70.

The Forty Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 42 two-man teams playing Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, SC. This event was the fifth 40 Plus event the SCGA will conduct in 2022.  The next 40 Plus event will be held on October 24th at Camden Country Club in Camden, SC.
