Eberhard Leads Opening Round of SCGA Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship
Florence, SC (Oct. 18, 2022) – First round results of the 16th Annual SCGA Super Senior Championship hosted by Florence Country Club in Florence, SC on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

A beautiful yet chilly day greeted players for the opening round of the 16 th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship at Florence Country Club in Florence, SC. Tom Eberhard of Johns Island will take a one stroke lead heading into the final round over defending champion, Walter Odiorne (Blythewood).
Eberhard combined two strong nines of 35 on each side to card a one under par 70 for his opening round. Walter Odiorne continues his strong play at Florence Country Club and sits only one shot behind the leader after an opening round of even par 71. Wayne Howle (Darlington) and Joseph Horne (Columbia) are in a two-way tie for third and only four shots back with opening rounds of 74.
In the Legends Division, Mike Calkins of Columbia leads with an opening round of even par 71 and takes a one-shot lead over Mike Weiner (Kiawah Island).
The Super Senior Championship consists of two divisions. The Championship division (Age 65-69) was split into three flights by first round scores: Championship Flight (70-76), First Flight (77-83), and Second Flight (84-90). The Legends Division (Age 70 & Over) was split into four flights by first round scores: Championship Flight (71-78), First Flight (79-81), Second Flight (82-88), and the Third Flight (89-106).
The Final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.

The 2022 SCGA Super Senior Championship is being conducted on the par 71 Florence Country Club course in Florence, SC. The course is playing at 5,950 yards for the Championship Division and 5,478 yards for the Legends Division. The field consists of 77 individuals over the age of 65 years old playing a Stroke Play format conducted over thirty six holes. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA.
