Blue Skies Greet Players at Opening Round of Carolinas Net Amateur Championship
Murrells Inlet, SC (Nov. 5, 2022) – A mild November day full of sunshine and blue skies greeted players for the first round of the 12th Annual Carolinas Net Amateur Championship at Blackmoor Golf Club.
Tim Dupree (Lexington, SC) has a five-shot lead in the Men’s Division after carding a net score of three under par 68. Dennis Guerriero (Lexington, SC) leads the Senior Men’s Division with a net score of nine under par 62. Dwight Davis (Pittsboro, NC) leads the Super Senior Men’s Division after a net score of five under par 66.
In the Women’s Division Taylor Grace Strickland (Georgetown, SC) leads after the first round with a net score of two under par 69. Patti Trzcinski (Sumter, SC) and Debra Martin (Columbia, SC) are tied for the lead in the Senior Women’s Division with net scores of two over par 73. Jackie Edmunds (Greensboro, NC) leads the Super Senior Women's Division heading into the final round after an opening round net score of three over par 74.
The Carolinas Net Amateur Championship, hosted in collaboration with the Carolinas Golf Association, South Carolina Golf Association, and Women’s South Carolina Golf Association, consists of 36 holes of net stroke play using 100% of player’s course handicaps. Players are placed into flights within their division for the final round. The final round will begin with a 10:00 AM shotgun start.
