Mullane Victorious at Riverton Pointe Forty Plus Event
Jonathan Mullane of Mount Pleasant was victorious at the second SCGA 40 Plus Series event of 2023 that was contested on Monday, February 6th, 2023 at Riverton Pointe Golf & Country Club, after a round of one over par 73. Mullane captured the playoff victory over Scott Sullivan (Blythewood), who also shot a tournament score of 73.
In the Tournament Net Division, Gerry Pascale (Bluffton) captured the win with a net score of 73.
In the Senior Gross Division, Eddie Hargett (Blythewood) placed atop the leaderboard after a five under par round of 67. Yancey Johnson (Simpsonville) finished in second place with a round of 71.
In the Senior Net Division, there was a three-way tie for first between Gary Smith (Hilton Head Island), Richard Rebholz (Johns Island), and Casey Smith (Abbeville). Each player finished with a net total of 73.
Robin Alley (Columbia) captured the Super Senior Gross Division with a two under par round of 70. Gary Odom (Greenwood) finished in second place with a one under par 71.
In the Super Senior Net Division, Donald Martini (Mount Pleasant) finished atop the leaderboard with a net score of 71.

The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 91 players playing Riverton Pointe Golf & Country Club in Hardeeville, SC. This event was the second 40 Plus event the SCGA has conducted in 2023. The next 40 Plus event will be held on March 20th at The River Golf Club in North Augusta, SC.
