Gronkiewicz Victorious at Orangeburg Forty Plus Event

Lee Gronkiewicz of Columbia was victorious at the fourth SCGA 40 Plus Series event of 2023 that was contested on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Orangeburg Country Club, after a round of even par 72. Gronkiewicz captured the victory by one shot over Brian Quackenbush (Aiken) and Jonathan McDonald (Charleston), who both carded rounds of one over par 73.
In the Tournament Net Division, Joe Tucker (Lyman) captured the win with a net score of 70.
In the Senior Gross Division, Yancey Johnson (Simpsonville) placed atop the leaderboard after a four under par round of 68. Dean Nance (Greenville) finished in second place with a round of 72.
In the Senior Net Division, Doug Ramey (Greer) took home the title after carding a net score of even par 72.
Charlie Hall (Hilton Head Island) captured the Super Senior Gross Division with a one under par round of 71. Jim Wise (Columbia) finished in second place with a one over par 73.
In the Super Senior Net Division, Russell Smith (Columbia) finished atop the leaderboard with a net score of 74.
The 40 Plus is a series of events conducted for golfers across South Carolina, over the age of 40. The field consisted of 104 players playing Orangeburg Country Club in Orangeburg, SC. This event was the fourth 40 Plus event the SCGA has conducted in 2023. The next 40 Plus event will be held on September 12 at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, SC.
