First Round Results of the 29th SCGA Mid-Am Four-Ball Championship

FLORENCE, SC (Aug. 19, 2023) – Dane Burkhart (Aiken) & Scott Usher (Charleston) as well as Garland Ferrell (Greenville) & Michael Sims (Lexington) find themselves tied at the top of the leader board after an opening round score of 61 at the 29th SCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball being contested at Florence Country Club in Florence, SC.

Both Burkhart/Usher and Ferrell/Sims ended up with clean cards consisting of no bogeys and an impressive front nine 30 and back nine 31. They will carry a two-shot lead heading into the final round over Bradley Kauffman (Greenville) & Walt Todd Jr. (Greer) along with Cally Bell (Bishopville) & Scott Pleasant (Florence) after firing rounds of 7 under par 63.

 

 There are 10 teams that posted a score of 5 under par 65 or better and are within four shots of the lead with one round to play.

 

The final round will begin at 8:00 AM Sunday morning as a double tee start off #1 and #10. 

 

The 2023 SCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship is being played at Florence Country Club which is playing as a par 70 – 6,413 yard course. The field consists of 56 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty-six holes. The Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship is in its 29th year of existence.
