Mulkey Goes Back to Back at Public Links Championship

Chandler Mulkey (Johns Island) captured the 3rd Annual Public Links Championship with a final round score of eight under par 64 and tournament total of 133. Mulkey has now claimed two of the first three editions of this young championship. Mulkey defeated Levi Joiner (Prosperity) on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to take home runner up honors. Wade Wawner (Charleston) finished alone in third place after a final round 68 and tournament total of 136.

The field was flighted into four flights based on first round scores for the final round. Josh Fickes (Beaufort) won the first flight after a final round score of 71 and tournament total of three over par 146. Andrew Wright (Columbia) and Hank Sieling (Summerville) finished tied atop the leaderboard in the second flight with a tournament total of seven over par 151. The third flight was won by T.A. Fulmer (Charleston) with a tournament total of 156.

The 2024 SCGA Public Links Championship was played at the par 72 – 6,465 yard Charleston Municipal Golf Course in Charleston, SC. In an effort to continue the growth of the game in South Carolina, the idea to bring a Public Links Championship to state level was created at one of the best public golf courses in the state, the Charleston Municipal Golf Course. The field consisted of 80 individuals playing individual stroke play conducted over thirty-six holes.
