Cillo Goes Wire to Wire to Win SCGA Super Senior Championship

James Cillo (Aiken) shot a final round 75 for a two-day total of one over par 143 to win the 18th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship at Florence Country Club. Duff Wagner (Greenville) and Tim Teaster (Cayce) would finish in a tie for second place with two round totals of four over par 146.

In the Legends Division, John Long (Murrells Inlet) and Jim Doyle (Mt. Pleasant) would find themselves in a tie after 36 holes. In the end, Doyle came out victorious after a three-hole sudden-death playoff.

The Super Senior Championship consists of two divisions. The Championship division (Age 65-69) was split into four flights by first round scores: Championship Flight (68-76), First Flight (78-79), Second Flight (80-82), Third Flight (83-94). The Legends Division (Age 70 & Over) was split into four flights by first round scores: Championship Flight (69-76), First Flight (77-80), Second Flight (81-84), and the Third Flight (85-96).

The 2024 SCGA Super Senior Championship was conducted on the par 71 Florence Country Club course in Florence, SC. The course played at 5,950 yards for the Championship Division and 5,478 yards for the Legends Division. The field consisted of 81 individuals over the age of 65 years old playing a Stroke Play format conducted over thirty-six holes. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA.
