Entering the day with a one-stroke lead, Harry Reynolds of Greenville finished the day eight-under par 280 to be crowned champion of the 90th SCGA Amateur Championship. He fired an impressive six birdies, posting one-under par 71 for the final round.
“I got off to a nervous start with a couple bogeys early on,” Reynolds said. “I managed to get things turned around and I think I turned at two-under. I had four birdies on the front nine and then kept the momentum going with some birdies early on the back nine. Every time I asked my brother Stephen, who was on the bag this week, for a score it seemed like we had one more shot added to the lead. It is such a blessing to be the champion. I am so happy to be a part of the history of South Carolina Golf and have my name on that trophy forever. It hasn’t quite sunk in yet, but it just really feels so awesome.”
Henry Augenstein of Columbia and Kyle Bearden of Barnwell, each finished the tournament at five-under par 283 to tie for second place.
The SCGA would like to offer a special thanks to all of our 90th Amateur Championship sponsors, as well as the DeBordieu Club staff and membership for their generous contribution and gracious hospitality in effort to make the 90th SCGA Amateur Championship a huge success.
