Champions Crowned at Carolinas Net Amateur Championship
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Champions have been crowned at the 2020 Carolinas Net Amateur Championship as unseasonably warm temperatures presented a great weekend of golf and camaraderie for 95 participants from all parts of the Carolinas.
Derick Monaco (Apex, NC) captured the Men’s Division over Hank Sieling (Summerville, SC) after a three-hole aggregate net playoff. Both Derick and Hank finished with tournament net totals of even par 144. Ted Kulp (Murrells Inlet, SC) won the Senior Men’s Division with a two-day net total of two over par 146. James Daniel (Florence, SC) was victorious in the Super Senior Men’s Division with a tournament total of three under par 141.
In the Women’s Division Natalie Martinho-Stansbury (Raleigh, NC) was victorious with a two-day net total of four over par 148. Laura Parziale (Carthage, NC) captured the title in the Senior Women’s Division with a tournament net total of eight over par 152. Maggie Collins (Greensboro, NC) captured a wire to wire victory in the Super Senior Women’s Division with a tournament net total of five over par 149.
The Carolinas Net Amateur Championship, hosted in collaboration with the Carolinas Golf Association, South Carolina Golf Association, and Women’s South Carolina Golf Association, consisted of 36 holes of net stroke play using 100% of player’s course handicaps. Players were placed into flights within their division for the final round.

The SCGA, founded in 1929, is the governing body for amateur golf in South Carolina. As a non-profit organization, the SCGA’s purpose is to promote, preserve and serve the game of golf. The SCGA also houses the offices of the SC Junior Golf Foundation and SC Junior Golf Association in a combined effort to support junior golf and grow the game’s initiatives.
