Ezelle and Revis Take Lefty Righty Title

Starting the day with a hefty six shot lead, the team of Jeremy Revis and Daniel Ezelle recorded a Final Round better ball score of five under par 67 to capture the 43^rd SCGA Lefty-Righty Championship. The Greenville natives carded two birdies on the outward nine matched with three more birdies coming in. Over the course of thirty-six holes, the pair never recorded a bogey. A two-day total of fifteen under par 129 bested their nearest competitors by four shots. Daniel Coker and Mitchell Vance finished alone in second place at eleven under par 133.

In Lefthanders competition, Mitchell Vance came from behind to capture this year’s title. Vance’s second round included seven birdies and two bogeys for a round of five under par 67. Lefthanded stalwarts and veterans of the championship, Stan Sill and Robert Dargan finished in a tie for second place at even par 144.

In Senior Lefty-Righty competition, Mike Daniels and John Long took home the title after defeating two-time defending champions Rich Weston and Steve Horton. Both sides made all pars on the first five holes of a sudden death playoff but a bogey by Weston and Horton on the sixth hole gave the Murrells Inlet team the win after making par. Both teams shot rounds of 65-68 to find themselves in the playoff at days end.

In Senior Lefthanders competition, two-time defending champion Rich Weston made it three in a row continuing his fine play around the Lake Marion layout posting a final round of 69 and a two-day total of eight under par 136. Harry Filyaw and Jon Evans finished in a tie for second place with two round totals of two over par 146.

The 2019 SCGA Lefty-Righty / Lefthanders Championship is one of 21 major championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association. The 43^rd Annual event was played on the 6,375 yard, par 72 golf course at Lake Marion Golf Course in Santee, SC.
