38th Four Ball Championship
Sylvan & Liebler Repeat
Gus Sylvan of Columbia and Steve Liebler of Irmo posted a 1 up win over Columbia brothers David and Robert Dargan and claimed the 38th Annual SCGA Four Ball Championship.
The Championship, played at Woodcreek Farms, found the match all square after 16 holes. A tap in birdie, four, by Liebler gave his team a 1 up lead going into the tough 18th. With David Dargan looking at a 12 foot birdie putt, Slyvan slammed the door on the brothers by canning a 24 footer for a birdie three.
By successfully defending their 2000 Championship, Syvan and Liebler have won 5 straight SCGA 2 man Championships. The scoring machines were 40 under par for their 85 holes of match play.
This is one of 17 state wide championships conducted by the SCGA.
