Mid Carolina Country Club Prevails
The team of Mid Carolina Country Club combined to shoot a total of 222 to win the Lathrop Cup by four shots over their nearest competitors. The Mid Carolina team consisting of Steve Liebler, Ron Callahan and Jeff Twitty handled the Patriot Golf Club and breezy conditions to win the Cup for the first time. In the Pro-Am portion of the event, Head Professional Burke Cromer led his Spurs at Northwoods team to victory with a final score of 132.
The 2016 SCGA Lathrop Cup was played on the par 72 - 6,351 yard Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, SC. The field consisted of 20 teams playing in both the Lathrop Cup and the Lathrop Cup Pro-Am. The Lathrop Cup is comprised of three amateurs over the age of 55 from the same club using the aggregate of their three scores to determine the Senior Club Championship of South Carolina. The Pro-Am portion of the event uses the best two balls of the group, including the club professional. The Lathrop Cup is named after long time SCGA Executive Director Happ Lathrop
