21st Annual Partners Championship
Roof Brothers Dominate Field
The brother tandem of Justin and Brent Roof set a tournament record of eighteen under par 126 to win the 21st Annual SCGA Partners Championship. The duo shot a second round score of 62 which was six shots lower than the next best score of the day. The Roof’s made eight birdies and an eagle during their record setting round and claimed their second Partners Championship by a total of three shots. In the First Flight, there was a two way tie at 133 with Doug Ramey & Chris Ehlich and Mims Liner & Tim Eich. In the second flight there was a four way tie with a total of 138.
The Tournament Division tested their skills at The Members Club – Woodcreek Course and saw Chase Epting & Jay Jasmine defeat the Defending Champions of Michael Campbell & Tim Reardon by two shots with a score of 131.
The 2013 SCGA Partners Championship was played over two golf courses, the par 72 – 6,665 yard Spring Valley CC course in Columbia, S.C and the par 72- 6,686 yard Members Club at Woodcreek course in Elgin. The field consisted of 92 two-man teams split into two different Divisions based on handicap, the Championship Division and the Tournament Division. Each division played a Captains Choice format the first day and a Best Ball format the second while alternating courses each day. The Partners Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
