3rd Annual Super Senior Championship
Stringer wins Playoff
Although Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the final round of the Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship, she did leave enough time for Bob Stringer to win a one hole sudden death playoff over Tommy Ford. Stringer made a birdie three on the first hole, the par four 10th, at Dunes West Golf Club to take home the 2009 Super Senior Championship. The 65 year old Columbia native is also a past winner of the SCGA Senior Championship in 2003.
The 3rd Annual SCGA Super Senior Championship was played on the par 72 – 5,822 yard Dunes West Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The event was created to honor the 41 years of service by Anderson’s Harry Wilson to the SCGA. The field consisted of 51 individuals over the age of 65 years old originally scheduled to play a stroke play format conducted over thirty six holes. The Super Senior Championship is one of 19 Major Championships conducted annually by the South Carolina Golf Association.
