Miles Eubanks Crowned Champion of the 64th State Junior Championship
FLORENCE, SC (June 23, 2022) – Final round results of the 64th State Junior Championship Presented by The Heritage Classic Foundation hosted by Florence Country Club on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
Entering the day three-shots behind the round two leader, Miles Eubanks of Warrenville fired a final round score of seven-under par 64 to claim the 64th SCGA Junior Champion title. He had nine birdies today, finishing the tournament with an impressive score of 11-under par 202 overall.
“I had a good time with the boys today,” said Eubanks. “There’s really not much I can say, I had fun, the putts were falling and I’m just speechless. I’ve put myself in positions like this in the past and when I get down the stretch, I fold. So today I just wanted to have a good time and see what happened. I don’t think this has all really kicked in yet, but this win feels so great. This gives me so much confidence, but other than that it tells me that I can do it. I just have to trust myself, let it happen and never force it.”
Mitchell McNeill of North Augusta finished the tournament at six-under par 207 to take second place. He had a final round score of one-under par 70.
Fighting for a spot on the leaderboard, Dallas Johnson of Mount Pleasant had a final round score of five-under par 66 to claim third place.
The top eight finishers qualified for the 47th annual Georgia-South Carolina Junior Team Matches. Those players include champion, Miles Eubanks, Mitchell McNeill, Dallas Johnson, Adam Hunt, Pake June, Waymon Thomas, Rowan Sullivan and Tip Price. The matches will be played July 29-31 at Savannah Golf Club in Savannah, Georgia.
