FLORENCE, SC
(Aug. 20, 2023) – The team of Michael Sims (Lexington) & Garland Ferrell (Greenville) have claimed the 2023 SCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Florence Country Club after a birdie on the first hole of a sudden death playoff against the team of Kevin Driggers (Mount Pleasant) & Andrew Lockliear (Moncks Corner). Both teams finished with tournament totals of 16 under par 124.

Sims and Ferrell would put together a stellar final round 63 by combining 11 pars and 7 birdies to follow up their first round 61. Driggers and Lockliear would take the runner-up title after the playoff.
Cally Bell (Bishopville) and Scott Pleasant (Florence) finished alone in third with a team score of 14 under par 126.

The 2023 SCGA Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship was played at Florence Country Club which played as a par 70 – 6,430 yard course. The field consisted of 56 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over thirty-six holes. The Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship is in its 29th year of existence.
